Recruitment

Safer recruitment,

Every tutor we onboard passes through a safer-recruitment process modelled on KCSIE Part 3, before they meet a single family.

    Enhanced DBS
    With child barred-list check, updated annually and monitored on the Update Service.
  2. 02
    Two professional references
    Followed up by phone — never email-only. Both must be from named safeguarding leads or equivalent.
  3. 03
    Right-to-work & ID
    Verified in-person with original documents and stored in accordance with our retention policy.
  4. 04
    Qualification verification
    QTS, PGCE, degree and specialism training certificates verified with the awarding body.
  5. 05
    Live observation
    Every tutor is observed teaching before their first solo placement.
  6. 06
    Safeguarding induction
    Level 2 minimum on entry, refreshed annually with Level 3 available to lead practitioners.

A trained DSL is available to tutors, families and LA safeguarding teams during operating hours, with a named deputy out of hours.

A concern raised is a concern recorded. We route to the LA's MASH team, following statutory timescales for referral.

Minimum necessary data, encrypted at rest, shared through secure channels, destroyed on schedule.
