What we look for

You do not need to have taught in a specialist school. You do need to be curious, reflective, and genuinely invested in the child in front of you.

QTS, PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification
Or exceptional specialist experience with evidence of impact.

Two years' SEND experience
In school, home, or clinical setting.

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
Or willingness to obtain one at our cost.

Two verifiable references
One from a named safeguarding lead.

Willingness to be observed teaching
Before any solo placement.

Panel interview

Practising SEND lead + safeguarding lead.

Live observation

Teaching sample with an existing student where possible, or a role-played scenario.

Onboarding

DBS, references, induction, first placement.
